Complete System Restore After Upgrading From Windows Vista to Windows 7 (32-bit)

Question:
Hello, I would like to ask about system restore with Windows 7.
I'm planning on upgrading my 32-bit Vista Home Premium to the 32-bit Windows 7 Home Premium system using a Dell XPS 420, modified with an LG internal DVD drive and an NVIDIA XFX 8600gt.
Let's
assume that something goes awry in my computer during or after installation and I'm forced to do a complete pc restore.
What happens then? Does my computer restore back to it's original Vista form and the preinstalled programs when I first purchased it? Does
something else happens? Please help with my question.
Thank you.
Solution to Complete System Restore After Upgrading From Windows Vista to Windows 7 (32-bit):
If you do a factory restore with the original image or factory recovery discs you made (which hopefully you did make!), then your computer will have Vista 32-bit Home Premium and be exactly as it was when you first turned it on after receiving it from
Dell.

If you want a better to way to preserve your current state - all your data, programs, tweaks, etc.
in Vista - purchase an imaging program like Acronis True Image and an external hard drive.
Use TI to image your system as it is now and store the image on the
external drive.
If things go awry, boot your computer with the TI disc (if purchased retail) or the Rescue Media bootable CD you made from within the installed TI program.
You will be able to restore your system in relatively few minutes.

TI can also image your new Win7 setup and do incremental backup images so this is a worthy investment.
